Tourism Barcelona
BARCELONA is 45 km away from the house, 40 minutes by car. There’s also a railway line from Sta. Maria de Palautordera or from Sant Celoni (both are about 4 Km from the house), as well as the bus line.In Barcelona there are infinite places to discover: architecture, leisure spaces, cinemas, theatres, flamenco shows, the biggest aquarium in Europe, gastronomy, bullfights, art, music, sardanes (traditional Catalan dance), popular festivities…
Enjoy its historical heritage by means of it´s urban routes, full of people, colour and life. The best place to start in Barcelona is the Rambles. To understand the historical eras of the city it is essential to go around the old city centre: the remains of the Roman wall, the Gothic buildings, the remains of the Jewish quarter..


Barcelona also has the best examples of Art Nouveau architecture; Eixample, the Sagrada Família Cathedral, the Casa Batlló (picture below), the Casa Ametller and the Casa Milà.

In the Port Olympic (above picture) and Port Vell there are many pubs, restaurants and leisure centres.

Don’t forget the parks of Barcelona, the ones that stand out are Parc de la Ciutadella and Parc Güell, a historical artistic monument by Gaudí.


Barcelona has 40 museums, the outstanding ones are the MNAC, the Catalonian National Art Museum (above picture behind the musical fontains -free show with ligths and music-), the MACBA, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona and the Picasso Museum. There are also plenty of theatres and cultural events.
